Junior Summer Comp 2019

The summer junior tennis competition drew to a close last week and I’d like to congratulate all our Woodend teams who competed.

From ten teams we had seven in the finals, three in the grand finals and two winning teams securing flags.

Well done to the C3/D Legends of Thomas Gladman, James Selby, Will Tuck, Jack Goodsell, Finn Dooley and Jack Roberts and the A3/B1 Phoenix team comprised of Lachlan Dawes, Cameron Corry, Yanick McGregor, Jacob Juriansz and Ella Davies for taking out the flags and winning their section. The B3 Warriors were runners up to a strong team from Gisborne and did really well to play in the final coming from fourth position on the ladder.

A big thanks to the team managers for their coordinating and parents/carers for all the running around that goes with the season. Also a big thanks to the MRTA and Jane Crozier in particular as the junior coordinator for all of the work to run the competitions throughout the year.

Winter comp will resume after the school holidays, dates and teams will be sent out shortly.
